UnitedHealthcare moved decisively to terminate an employee who made shocking comments celebrating violence against President Trump. The healthcare giant fired Alison King, a social media manager, after she posted a disturbing TikTok video mocking Saturday’s assassination attempt at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.

In the video, King sarcastically asked, “Aww, they missed?” when referring to the failed attack on our President. According to the New York Post, King also claimed her first reaction was to assume the assassination attempt was “probably fake,” before expressing mock disappointment that the shooter failed to harm President Trump.

UnitedHealthcare didn’t hesitate to take action once King’s appalling comments came to light. The company issued a clear statement to Fox News Digital: “Violence is never acceptable and any comments that suggest otherwise are in no way consistent with our mission and values.” This swift response shows corporate America can still distinguish right from wrong when it comes to threats against our democratically elected leaders.

The assassination attempt itself demonstrates the dangerous climate of hatred that has been fostered against President Trump and his administration. Suspected shooter Cole Tomas Allen opened fire at the Washington Hilton Hotel during the dinner, specifically targeting Trump administration officials according to law enforcement sources. Allen now faces life in prison for his failed attack on our President and other political leaders.

This incident reminds us that words have consequences and that celebrating violence against any political figure crosses every line of decency. While UnitedHealthcare deserves credit for taking immediate action, King’s initial reaction reveals how deeply some Americans have been poisoned against President Trump by years of inflammatory rhetoric from his opponents.
